We invite Zhytomyr citizens to the Public Participation Academy!
For the first time an interactive and practical training course of the Public Participation Academy will be held in Zhytomyr on September 19-20, 2019!
Representatives of local self-government bodies, NGOs, ACMHs and businesses are invited to participate.
The introduction of the Public Participation Academy will help create the conditions for strengthening public participation, mutual trust, respect and recognition between representatives and members of the public and local authorities for further cooperation and building a lasting inclusive dialogue in the decision-making and implementation process.
Learning through Action is key to this year’s Public Participation Academy. The Academy’s curriculum aims to improve the competencies and skills of members of the public and local authorities in joint policy-making and citizen engagement throughout the decision-making cycle, and to master the best practices of local democracy.
During the first day of the program (September 19), representatives of local self-government bodies will master the methods of involving citizens in the decision-making process, and will discuss how to effectively implement the provisions of the new Charter of Zhytomyr City United Territorial Community in cooperation with the public.
The following day (September 20), representatives of NGOs, ACMHs and businesses will increase their level of competence to involve the public in political decision-making and the effective use of public participation instruments. Also, on this day, the secrets of successful cooperation with the public will be shared by invited representatives of local authorities.
Participation in the Academy is free of charge. Seating is limited. To participate, please complete the form by September 16, 2019 inclusive.
