During the meeting of volunteers in Zhytomyr, the participants decided to create the Coalition of Volunteer Organizations and Initiatives of Zhytomyr.
The integration meeting “Community Voices in War: Volunteer Initiatives of Zhytomyr” brought together representatives of various organizations that are actively involved in volunteering.
Each of them has its own experience, achievements and challenges that have to be faced on a daily basis. They are united by one common goal – to bring the victory closer by all means.
To unite these efforts, Zhanna Solovyova, Executive Director of the NGO “Modern Format”, Chairman of the Board of the Zhytomyr Community Foundation, proposed to sign a Memorandum on the establishment of the Coalition of Volunteer Organizations and Initiatives of Zhytomyr.
The primary tasks of the Coalition are as follows:
- experience and knowledge exchange in volunteer services, humanitarian support, etc;
- joint resources, efforts and opportunities to help the military, war victims, internally displaced people, and other target groups;
- conducting joint events, projects and programs;
- dissemination of educational and legal materials to enhance the safety of volunteer organizations,initiatives and volunteers.
The idea to establish the Coalition arose within the framework of the project ” Community Voices in the War in Ukraine”, implemented by the NGO “Modern Format” with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy.
